Bonnie Bond and John Caraberis have been designing and crafting pewter for over 25 years. The pieces are designed to inspire or to touch one's life with a bit of whimsey and freshness. The pewtersmithing process begins with a drawn design which is then translated into a sculpted model. This original model is then vulcanized in rubber under heat and pressure to produce a mold. The rubber mold is used to centrifugally cast the item from molten pewter (approx. 500 degrees F). Each product then goes through a number of finishing and polishing techniques before its completion. Both Bonnie and John believe in the possibility of a flourishing life for all. To that end, they contribute 10% of profits to philanthropic projects.
