Brad Tucker began making pots in 1977 when his friend (and future wife) enrolled him in a pottery class as a birthday gift. He took to clay very quickly and soon was spending all his spare time at the studio. After enrolling in and graduating from the pottery program at Montgomery Community College, he moved to Cedar Creek and established his own studio in 1981. Now he continues to make his finely crafted stoneware as an artist in residence. Brad blends traditional influences with contemporary sensibilities to produce graceful yet sturdy pots of lasting beauty and utility. His trademark wood ash glazes yield rich and varied surfaces that enhance the shapes, and range from earth tones to soft blues.
