Artist Statement
In 1976 I began exploring the difficult technique of chasing and repoussé. A tedious and labor-intensive process where a flat sheet of metal is hammered with steel rods forming jewelry with soft lines and grace. As all artists carry their experience into their work, my training in repoussé provided the foundation for a line of cast jewelry that is exciting and uniquely my own. Expression is a process of developmental changes and as a designer, jewelry provides the best medium to insure my growth as an artist. For me, jewelry design is a combination and practicality. Its nature is to enhance and to provide a lasting statement.
