There is an appearance of things being out of control in glass because of the time it takes to build up an understanding of it. The experimentation that goes hand in hand with understanding glass is, to me, integral to its use as a medium for sculpture.
These concepts of fragmentation and experimentation enter into all my work. Instinctively, the characteristics of the process are transposed into tangible form. By the sinuous and tortuous process of assembly, as much as by the physicality of the piece, the subjects of unity, universality and individuality are addressed.
