Christophe Poly sees beauty in everyday objects. With his eye for shape and function, a simple rubber washer becomes a flexible ribbon. A chunk of aluminum unfolds into a shimmering core of light. All components become a balanced piece in which no single part stands out.
Christophe Poly has been comining unique materials to create innovative jewelry and objects from his studio since 1989. Each piece is created in a three-dimensional architectural process using equipment that he invented and built himself.
Christophe Poly is of Greek and French origins. He inherited an interest in the arts from his mother, a clothing designer and teacher, but it was his entrepreneur father who provided him with the drive and ambition to use his talents to build concrete items. He used his skills to create jewelry, first for others and then for himself. A course at the École de Joaillerie et Métaux d'Art de Montréal (E.J.M.A.M.) helped him perfect his work.
