Illuminart
Diana Harrison

"The color and form in these lamps create a dynamic approach to lighting and decorating." Diana Harrison traces the beginnings of her large, illuminated paper floral forms to a large shell she sculpted out of mahogany twenty years ago. Her idea was that simply by changing the material and scale of an object, she could change its relationship to everything around it. About ten years ago she began experimenting with cast paper to create high relief sculpture. These aesthetic investigations led to Illuminart.

Diana Harrison was born November 5, 1942 in St. Louis Missouri, grew up in New Canaan, CT, and attended Putney School in VT. Diana continued her education in sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Sculpture and a MAT in Educattion.. Along with her late husband, Industrial Design Professor Marc Harrison, she raised two daughters, Natasha and D'Arcy and now has two granddaughters, Diana lives and works in Middletown, RI.
