Danforth s fine handcrafted pewter is the work of Fred and Judi Danforth and their team of skilled artisans. Fred and Judi revived the family tradition of pewtersmithing that began with Thomas Danforth II in early 18th century New England.
This pewter is made from a lead-free alloy of tin, copper and antimony. The Danforth studio makes the pieces by employing a combination of techniques, including spinning on a lathe and casting in rubber molds. Each piece is crafted in their Vermont workshop and bears a lion touch mark, a family symbol of quality and originality of design.
