Judi is primarily a self-taught potter having developed an interest in clay only in her adult years after raising four children. Her understanding and appreciation for art, especially in clay, has grown as a result of working for the Southern Highland Craft Guild for eight years. She juried into the Southern Highland Craft Guild in 2004, as a mixed media artist with hand crafted stoneware and raku fired djembe style hand drums. Her work has evoled to include functional stoneware as well as decorative raku pieces and horsehair raku.
