Gardendance Mark Donley and Tinka Jordy
Owned by Mark Donley and Tinka Jordy, Gardendance began as Jordy Pottery in 1977. "Tinka studied at both the Kansas City Art Institute and the Cleveland Institute of Art.
Having worked as a professional artist, sculptor and designer for over 28 years, her sculptures are exhibited and collected internationally. Mark brought his business and design skills to
Gardendance in 1997. Together, we have been working to meld the inspiration of the artist with the practical production ideals of industrial design."
"Russel Wright said: "Good design is for everyone". We believe that good design should open people's eyes to their surroundings... to the everyday objects they use...
to the spaces inside and outside their homes. It's important to understand the immediate surroundings that the object you are designing will interact with. Whether it's an indoor room,
an outdoor room, nature and natural materials inspire our designs. We are devoted to the simplicity and durability of natural materials and forms. We design our products to work in harmony with the natural environment."
"As families have escaped outside from the hectic pace of modern life they wish to create cozy spaces or outdoor rooms as extensions of their living spaces. We seek to create designs for the outdoor
room that combine form and function... our entire product line is designed for outdoors. We design to provide a beautiful, long lasting, weather resistant and low maintenance product."
"We work together as a creative team... Tinka brings her sculptural design sensibilities and Mark brings the perspective of a craftsmen's love of materials and tools with a
manufacturers practical concern for economy and efficiency. Craftsmanship is integral to a Gardendance design."
