Cal and Christy Breed

Orbix Hot Glass Inc. opened its doors in Fort Payne in 2002. Owners Cal and Christy Breed spent several years researching, designing and building everything from furnace doors to business plans to porch rafters.

Both the Orbix Studio Designs and Cal Breed Signature Designs pay close attention to proportion, form, and color. Each is chosen with specific intention to accentuate details particularly innate to glass. The Studio Designs use simple overlapping techniques to create rich and vague color. The Signature Designs, mainly defined by multiple transparent incalmo brands, employ color gradients and optical density to express breathtaking arrangements.
