ARTIST STATEMENT

Susan Kinzig can be found in San Francisco, where she designs colorful, uniquely designed glass lamps. Her sister-in-law, Caryn Kinzig, designs the shades in Philadelphia. Together they formed Kinzig Design Home. The richly colored shades are sewn from embroidered silks and other elegant fabrics and topped with their own distinctive finials. Each lamp is individually finished in a style that incorporates oxidized metals and the warm, rich colors and surface textures that can be obtained through controlled processes and accidental circumstances.
