Jason Probstein is known for creating traditional lampworked glass. He heats glass tubing and rod with a torch. Once the material is in a molten state, he forms the glass by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. He uses Corning Pyrex, a strong and very durable glass.
Jason studied Venetian glass techniques at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. He has performed glassblowing demonstrations, and his work can be found at museum gift shops and galleries throughout the United States and Canada. Jason’s spirited, passionate commitment to consistency and perfection makes each of his pieces an original, unique signed work of art.
