Susan Bradshaw works with glass at Woven Time Studio, located in Mossyrock, WA. Her artistic ideas come from the play of light and colors in the world around her. Hand-cut pieces of colored glass are used to create the basic shape. Frits and powdered glass are added to enhance the image. The glass pieces are heated in a kiln to between 1380 and 1450 degrees, fusing them into a single piece. What she loves most about fused glass is the “constant changing dance of light.” On sunny days it is a lively, sparkly dance. On foggy or rainy days it is a slow, sensuous dance. In the evening it becomes a two-beat dance of reflected and refracted light.
