ARTIST STATEMENT

Thomas P. Kelly initially had the opportunity to learn from two distinctly different glass artists. He worked with Alex Brand and Thomas Buechner, spending time at both studios. Eventually he found himself blowing glass full time with Thomas Buechner at Vitrix Hot Glass studio. He honed his skills over a ten-year time span and eventually took over ownership of Vitrix.

“Hot glass challenges me constantly,” says Tom, “I don’t think I really control the molten glass, I just influence it.” Vitrix Hot Glass Studio is regarded among America’s prominent contemporary glass studios.
