Evalyn Crawford began jewelry design with semi-precious stones and sterling silver findings. She soon discovered a relatively new art medium – metal clay. The “clay” is 93% pulverized fine silver (.999% silver), water and an organic binder. She works the “clay” the same way a potter works clay, including firing the “clay” in a kiln. She creates pendants, earrings, and bracelets with the designs she creates. She includes semiprecious stones with her work and for strength she uses sterling silver findings and chain.
Evalyn has been certified to teach Art Clay Silver (one of the brands) jewelry making by Master Pam East of Atlanta, GA.
