John Griffith

ARTIST STATEMENT

John is an educator and an artist. Since retiring from his position as President of Presbyterian College, he has renewed his passion for watercolors and took his first instruction at the Ringling School of Art and Design in the North Carolina mountains. His work focuses on images from Provence, Sarasota and the Carolinas that often start as photographs captured by his wife, Nancy. He has a keen sense of composition and use of color, light and shading
