Gerry McElroy graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City, majoring in Fashion Illustration. She has worked as a fashion designer, a freelance illustrator, and a teacher of art. Gerry specializes in creating charcoal and pastel portraits, specializing in ballet dancers and brides. She has a great eye for capturing her subject, highlighting the beauty and unique detail of each individual. Her exquisite watercolor paintings illustrated the book Nipper of Drayton Hall by Amey Lewis, a children’s history of Charleston’s Drayton Hall. She also designs colorful hand-painted greeting cards.
