Kristin uses elaborate stencils and methods of layering to create a rich surface design on her pottery.
After college, she established a home in Asheville, NC where she made pottery in her home studio while raising her children. When the youngest started school in 2013, Kristin took some time off to test and experiment with new techniques. She found inspiration in colored slips, paper resist and washes – adding these to her arsenal and reinventing her style. She expanded her use of color and adopted new patterns.
She currently works, as Benyo Pottery, out of a co-operative clay studio in Asheville’s River Arts District.
