Kentucky native Mike Angel had been interested in woodworking for years, but took it up earnestly after retiring in 1994. He has made a study of old Appalachian designs, inspiring his own creations. His favorites are his line of traditional “mule ear” chairs. Mike is adept at bending the wood to form comfortable backs for each of his chairs and rockers. He uses native Kentucky woods whenever possible. Along with the chairs he began with, Mike creates unique stools, pagoda benches, and tables, which are in demand by craft venues far and wide.
